If you need to discount, or track sales routes, a promotion code is the way to go.
First, select the series you'd like to add the promotion code to.
From any OvationTix screen, you can click on the green home button in the upper left corner to get back to the home screen. Then, you can select the series you want to work with from the series list or from the series pull down menu at the top.
Click on Private/Coded Tickets from the menu in the left margin
It's the second option in the series management menu under the Manage Tickets heading.
Click to edit an existing promotion, or on the button to add a new one.
You can click on the Edit link to make changes to existing promotions. Clicking the green button creates a new one.
Enter information, restrictions, and pricing.
Only Name, Code, Start Date and Prices are required for initially creating a promotion code.
1. Information: Promotion Name and Code
The name of the promotion will appear on the sales reports. The code is what patrons enter to activate the promotion pricing and is not case-sensitive.
2. Restrictions: Offer start and end, event eligibility, quantity requirements
All of these options can be edited later if need be.
3. Pricing: Select eligible public ticket types and set prices
Leave a ticket type unchecked if it is not eligible for the promotion.

You can distribute the code or the coded link to your lucky patrons. The table includes a quick link to a sales report filtered for the promotion.
