The Checkout Questions feature in Ovationtix can be used for a range of purposes based on the needs of your organization. You might use them to collect important information about your patrons to enhance their experience at your venue or find out how they heard about your show.
This article will detail the many options for creating checkout questions, how to use them, where they appear and how to access the data collected.
You can access the Checkout Questions tool in Tools --> Checkout Questions.
The page will display any already created questions and give you a few options to manage and edit them. To add a new question, click on the green Add Checkout Question button.
First you'll be prompted to enter the question text. Then, you'll be given options for where the question will appear. Web is the consumer interface, Box Office is your checkout in QS+ and Ovationtix Phone is for our phone agents taking orders. If you check that the question should be required, the patron or agent won't be able to move forward during the checkout process without providing an answer for the question.
Next, you can customize the Type of question you'd like to create and choose how the question can be answered. If you choose Free Text, the patron will be able to enter anything they like. For Multiple Choice, type in your responses and click the green Add button.
For example, as answer options for the question "How did you hear about us?" your multiple choice options could be Newspaper, Social Media, Email, Friend etc. If you choose to include an "other" response, the patron can type in their own answer.
Here you can choose when the question should be displayed. You can specify that it is displayed for all purchases or when select items or series are purchased.
Throughout this process, you'll be able to see a Preview of the checkout question you're creating in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
This is how and where your checkout questions will display for patrons during their checkout process if the question has been enabled for the web.
To access the answers for your questions, to to Tools --> Checkout Questions and click View Answers.
You'll be able to view and filter the answers by order...
Or by event...
