When you process a transaction in OvationTix after entering new patron information, OvationTix will always create a new patron record.
Sometimes though, you just need to create a patron record without processing a transaction. That's what we're going to talk about in this article.
Let's create some patrons!
First, hover over Search near the top of the screen, then click Patron Search
Look at the bottom left of the page, and you'll see two green buttons - Add an Individual and Add an Institution.
This next part will shock you, so get ready. Click Add an Individual if you want to add an individual, and click Add an institution if you want to add an institution.
Feel free to keep reading whenever you're ready - don't rush yourself! I know that was a lot to take in.
Click either one, and a pop-up will appear, like so.
Just fill the information in, and click Create New Patron. That's it! You just created a new patron (or institution).
A quick note, as I know it can lead to some confusion - not everyone makes use of Custom Login, so don't worry too much about it. However, after you create the patron, I highly recommend getting into the patron record and adding a Login Email. This is the patron's primary email, and it's where automatic messages like Confirmation Emails and Pre Show Emails will be sent.
